What is Growth Mindset?
The term 'growth mindset' refers to a way of thinking, learning and taking on challenges. A person with a growth mindset is open to constructive criticism, takes feedback and uses it, takes on new challenges, pushes themselves outside of their comfort zone. They show resilience and perseverance
Growth mindset is the belief that you can grow your abilities - even in areas where you struggle.
In the STEAM Lab, students participate in a variety of activities that are meant to grow these skills.
Focus is on effort and hard work and not on "talent" or innate strengths, or even success. Students learn that failure often leads to greater solutions or new discoveries, and is common or even expected.
